What NVIDIA announced
NVIDIA expanded its Isaac robotics platform at GTC Berlin on 21 October 2026 with a reference humanoid, a new runtime, framework updates and open data. The reference robot is the Agile ONE SN, built by Agile Robots on Isaac GR00T and powered by NVIDIA Jetson Thor, with planned integration of the NVIDIA Halos safety stack. It is scheduled for early 2027, and Stanford University and ETH Zurich have expressed interest.
NVIDIA lists the robot at 1.40 m tall and 40 kg, with 31 degrees of freedom and a 3 kg payload per arm. It has two WUJI Hand 2 five-finger hands with 20 degrees of freedom each, 1 kHz force control and tactile sensing. Jetson Thor provides 2,070 FP4 teraflops and 128 GB of unified memory. Sensors include head and wrist cameras, lidar and inertial measurement units.
Software, simulation and data
Isaac Lab 3.0 is generally available as open source with multi-GPU support and physics engines including Newton and PhysX. Isaac OS is a new open-source runtime built on NVIDIA Holoscan for deterministic, real-time operation from simulation to physical robots. NVIDIA also published three open reference workflows for DGX Station: reinforcement learning to refine GR00T 1.7 models, dexterous manipulation training in Isaac Lab, and post-training of Cosmos world models for synthetic data.
On data, the SimReady Central Library puts more than 2,000 simulation-ready robot and factory assets on Hugging Face, with contributions from Comau, FANUC, Franka Robotics, Universal Robots and Vertiv. A Human 1M dataset of human activities with three-view video and 3D hand tracking is on Hugging Face, with the full set available to Cosmos Coalition partners. Its size is not stated in the announcement.
What changed for robot builders
A reference humanoid gives labs and startups a common body to test GR00T models on. European adopters named in the release include ABB Robotics, KUKA, Sereact, NEURA Robotics and Toyota Material Handling Europe, which says deployment time fell by up to 50% with Omniverse and Isaac Sim. Founder and CEO Jensen Huang is quoted saying the "ChatGPT moment for robotics is fast approaching". Figure, which trains its own model, reported 56% zero-shot success in 30 homes a month earlier, a sign of how quickly the software side is moving.
What to watch next
Price and order terms for the Agile ONE SN are not stated in the announcement, and the early 2027 date is the first checkpoint. The size of the Human 1M dataset and the Halos certification work with TÜV SÜD and Accenture are other open points. More humanoid stories are under Robotics & Physical AI.
