ChatGPT gets GPT-6 and Intelligent UI, starting answers 44% sooner on web searches

What OpenAI announced

OpenAI announced GPT-6 and Intelligent UI in ChatGPT on 7 October 2026. With Intelligent UI, GPT-6 composes a response from text, visuals and interactive elements and decides how they fit together for the question. A reply can contain graphics and charts, tappable buttons, forms and interactive experiences that work inside the conversation.

OpenAI gives four uses. Users can explore an idea with interactive visuals, ask for a tool such as a game, a calculator or a bill splitter, work through a visual explanation and change an input to see the result, or use controls in the answer to adapt it. Which plans get it

The global rollout began on 7 October for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise, with GPT-6 Sol as the model. It expanded to Free and Go from 8 October, with GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI did not announce a price change. On OpenAI's plan page, Free costs $0, Go $8 and Plus $20 per month, Pro starts at $100 per month, and Business costs $20 per user per month billed annually. Edu is not named in the rollout table.

For ChatGPT users, this is a change to the answer itself rather than a separate tool, because Intelligent UI puts working controls in the reply and the model decides when to use them. What to watch next

The announcement does not say whether developers can use the same component library in their own ChatGPT plugins, or how interactive answers behave in the API.
